As a CanadianLandAccess.com (CLAS) member, you get the advantage of being able to find wonderful listings that allow you to embark on exciting expeditions. Checking into a CLAS land properly sets the tone for a successful and enjoyable experience. In this article we provide a concise guide on the essential steps to take when arriving at any property that you’ve booked on the CLAS app or website.
When logging into your account and booking land on the CLAS app or website, you’re offered a plethora of options to choose from. You can either search for land by typing in the land you want to book, or you can browse around and look for the perfect pin and select it. You can also type in keywords related to the land or filter the results by property features using the dropdown menu. Upon finding the perfect place to visit for your outdoor excursion, you need to request a booking and check-in. To do that, you can follow these quick and easy steps:
1. You click on ‘Request a Booking’ and here, you have to fill in the reason for your request as well as the dates on which you want to visit the land. You can also put in any additional information that you may deem necessary. When all of this is done, you press send and your request will be sent to the landowner for their approval.
2. Under ‘My Reservations’ you are able to see your ‘Pending Requests’, which has the ‘Land Title’, and the ‘Address’, when you requested the land and for which dates. You can also see the ‘Status’ of the reservation and are able to cancel the request(s) if need be.
3. When the status of your request is ‘Accepted’ you will be able to check-in depending on the days you’ve chosen (If the ‘Check In’ button is yellow you may check in, and if it’s gray you may have to wait till closer to your reservation date to check in).
4. When pressing the ‘Check In’ button, you’ll be led to use your mobile camera to scan a QR code. You can access this QR code when arriving at the land/property you have booked on the signage. There are access signs (that are boundary signs), here you’ll find a QR code in which you can scan to get access to the property, if your mobile device does not read the QR code, alternatively there’s a barcode you can put in.
5. You also need to fill in your vehicle details consisting of the license plate, make, model and color.
6. Take a moment to review and familiarize yourself with the land’s rules and regulations. Respect for the land and adherence to its rules ensure a positive experience for everyone. The next step is to accept the rules and regulations. You are able to see the rules and regulations of the land and you will have to read and accept them. Thereafter, your check in will be successful.
7. By following these steps you’ll be successfully checked in and you can enjoy your stay. As you settle into the land, embrace the natural surroundings and respect the wildlife. Follow ethical hunting, hiking or fishing practices, minimize your impact on the environment, and savor the opportunity to connect with nature.
8. Finally, take a deep breath and relish the anticipation of the activities to come. Whether you’re seeking big game or small prey, checking into your hunting property marks the beginning of an adventure that promises excitement, camaraderie, and a deep connection with the great outdoors.
9. And as simple as ABC, you can check out by filling in the details of your visit and then clicking the ‘Check Out’ button at the bottom of your screen.
